User to select columns for variance analysis

New variance feature is a long awaited one. And finally we have it!

But this feature is almost a hardcode and it does not allow an end user to select which of the two columns to be compared.

Before placing this idea I have open a topic in UX Designers forum to collect thoughts of the community about it:  MR: User to select columns for variance

These are some points which I found valuable for Anaplanners:

- The current release is kind of hardcode. But it is a great step to building fliexibility and sparcity saving. But comparing with building the variance manually in the model via line items (the old school way) we don't know anything about it's performance.

- We need end users to be able to choose the columns they want to compare ad hoc.

- This should be available in boards and worksheets as well, not just management reporting pages

- Anaplan promoted as easy-to-build, easy-to-use system. Let's give end users the tools and teach them how to use them rather than ask an Anaplanner to build new report every time they need to compare variance of different data.

As @einas.ibrahim quotes the famous saying in her signature: "Give a Man a Fish, and You Feed Him for a Day. Teach a Man To Fish, and You Feed Him for a Lifetime"

Please be welcome to share your thoughts and maybe add some details on how you see this as UI.
