Level 2 Sprint 2 - Dem01 data uploading wrong information

Hi All - I am trying to upload the Volume+Growth+Rates.csv https://anaplanenablement.s3.amazonaws.com/Files/Level2_onDemand/Volume+Growth+Rates.csv . The first time I tried, I got the error.

So I changed the format on the excel to date 03/04/12 and tried again and it uploaded. But the values are showing up as below, which appears no relation to the data in the sheet. Can you please advise what I am doing wrong

I would recommend not to change the format into dates. Here is what you can do

Step 1: Without opening the Input .csv file upload the file into Anaplan It so happens when you open csv files it changes the period format. But if you wish to open the file before loading it, it may look like this

You can try change the format in your source file . Right Click on any Cell and click on Format Cells and choose the option of "mmm-yy" Once that is done save the file.

Alternatively if you want to save yourself some time just download it again from the exam portal and use that without opening

Step 2: Keep the time mapping as Period of M-Y on Anaplan.

You should be able to see the results as expected

    Hope that helps

  • Hi Misbah - Thank you for your inputs. But I am getting the error:

    Option 1:

Is this something related to the date format that I have selected ? ( There seems to be no year in the file)

    Option 2 :

  • Do you know why the Y-M format worked?  I was stuck on the same issue forever

  • Hi Rachel - I am still a novice, but my understanding is that the Y-M maps to the source and the input file has that format

  • HI @sunilramakumar

Can you please explain the  way to solve the date format issue , as even i am stuck at this point.

  • Hi Vivek,

Please check my comment above. Open the file you're trying to load in notepad. Check the format and select that format when you go through the upload exercise.

For the Dem01 data, it should be Y-M format. Hope this helps.

    Thanks,
    Hiren

May I know what was not right?

    Appreciate any advices. Thank you.

  • Hi Cynthia,

Please check my comment above. Open the file you're trying to load in notepad. Check the format and select that format when you go through the upload exercise.

For the Dem01 data, it should be Y-M format.

Once you change the csv file in any format, save it and open it in notepad to ensure it retains the format that you wanted to use.

    Hope this helps.
