Course Objectives Where to find more resources about Informatica An overview of HyperConnect Demonstration of how to install the secure agent  Demonstration of how to setup connections Demonstration of how to setup Data Synchronization Resources There are two resources you can use when working in HyperConnect.  Anaplan Community Several community articles are located by performing a search on this community site. You can also find help in the data integration forums at:  Product Conversations > Data Integrations . Informatica's Help There are also a number of resources available on the  Informatica Cloud website . The video below reviews what is available as well as where to locate it on the site. Video: Locating and using Informatica help resources   HyperConnect Overview This 3:16 video reviews: The difference between HyperConnect and Informatica Cloud How scheduling works in HyperConnect What the secure agent is The main integration scenarios   The Secure Agent The first thing that needs to be done before utilizing Informatica Cloud is to install a secure agent. The Informatica Cloud Secure Agent is a lightweight program that runs all tasks and enables secure communication across the firewall between your organization and Informatica Cloud.   When the Secure Agent runs a task, it connects to the Informatica Cloud hosting facility to access task information. The Secure Agent connects directly and securely to sources and targets, transfers data between them, orchestrates task flows, runs processes, and performs any additional task requirement.   Detailed Secure Agent information can be found on   Informatica's help pages.    Demo Secure Agent Setup   Connections A connection enables you to access data from cloud and on-premise applications, platforms, databases, and flat files. Use connections to specify the location of sources, lookups, and targets included in a task.   You can create a connection for connectors that are installed in Informatica Informatica Cloud. Many connectors are pre-installed, however you might want to use a connector that is not pre-installed. Add-on connectors created by Informatica and Informatica partners are available for installation.   More information about connections can be found in   Informatica's Online Help. Below are three demonstrations showing connection setup.   Demo Connecting to Anaplan   Demo Connecting to Salesforce   Demo Connecting to MySQL   Data Synchronization You can configure a Data Synchronization task using the Data Synchronization Task wizard. The wizard allows you to synchronize data between a source and target. For example, you can read sales leads from your Anaplan sales model and write them into Salesforce. You can also use expressions to transform the data according to your business logic or use data filters to filter data before writing it to targets.   You can use a single object as a   source   or multiple related objects as sources in a Data Synchronization task. You can also use multiple objects for database connection types. Define relationships based on key columns or create a user-defined join condition.   You can use a single object as a   target   for a Data Synchronization task. The target connections that you can use depend on the task operation you select for the task. Remember that Anaplan   must be   either the source   or   the target to use HyperConnect.   More information on the Data Synchronization Task Configuration can be found in   Informatica's Online Help. Below are a few demonstrations showing the setup of different data sync options.    Demo Sync SFDC to Anaplan   Demo Sync Anaplan to SFDC   Demo Sync MySQL to Anaplan   Automating the error dump This 3:46 video shows how to set up a task flow in Informatica Cloud. This task flow automatically sends the result of an error dump to a flat file or database.     Advanced training coming soon! Thank you for taking this introductory course. Advanced training is currently being created so subscribe to this page for updates and changes. In the meantime if you have questions not covered in this training email ram.narayanan@anaplan.com.

The platform still needs to allocate memory space to these cells even though they are not used. The trick is being able to identify and combat these cells in existing models as well as preventing them when building new. Course Objectives: By the end of this class, you will: Identify sparse cells in existing models Think critically when building new models to keep sparsity at a minimum Utilize line item components such as Applies to, Formulas, Summary, Versions, and Time to reduce sparsity Analyze which dimensions are necessary in a module and which could be removed Write formulas which allow you to eliminate other line items or dimensions Understand how numbered or subset lists can be used to reduce sparsity The course  will take about 10-20 minutes to complete. Start the course here. Effective Dating (311) Audience: Model Builders   Summary: Use of effective dating addresses the basic challenge of recording the dates when a change is made in the system. To use an HR example, recording when an employee transfers from one department to another. Other examples include contract renewals, territory assignments, and compensation plans. Essentially, any change that you want to be able to document and record a history of when that change happened requires effective dating. Course Objectives: By the end of this class, you will: Explain when is an appropriate time to use effective dating techniques and why they are important Utilize start, end, and transfer dates to create effective dating formulas Create an Action to sync employee information Have the system properly attribute resources to the correct hierarchy, such as the employee’s salary to the correct department Write formulas to calculate headcount The course  will take about 17-20 minutes to complete.    This set of training classes includes information on User Roles and Selective Access. Classes include:   User Roles Overview (306) Understanding how to setup user roles and selective access is key in the model building process. Take a closer look at the controls available for this process. It provides and overview of both user roles and selective access before moving into more details around the user role feature. It is recommended to take this topic before moving on to 307: Selective Access. After completing this course, the learner will be able to: Explain the importance of user roles and selective access in a model Create a model role Use roles to set permissions for modules, versions, Lists, and Actions Set landing dashboards for roles Personalize content by role Assign a model role This class will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete.   Launch Training   Selective Access (307) This course dives deeper into selective access. Using selective access allows the model builder a greater amount of control over what individual users see and have access to. After completing this course, the learner will be able to: Explain the items for which selective access can allow and deny access Turn on selective access Setting selective access for users Assigning selective access by user Explain how selective access affects dashboard views and interactions Utilize selective access with dependent dropdowns Assign different levels of read and write access This class will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. Launch Training     Automating User Access (308) Users can be automatically added to a model through an Import process. At the same time you can also set their Model Role and Selective Access information automatically. This training covers what you need to know to perform this process. After completing this course, the learner will be able to: Automatically add users to the system through an import Set users model role and any selective access designations Setup a permission module Utilize saved views to optimize the import process Create import actions Automate permission updates If you would like a closer look at the formulas and setup, a model blueprint is available for download. Click the Automating User Access Blueprint.xls link here or on the top right of the page. This class will take approximately 11 minutes to complete.   Launch Training

Anaplan Connect is a downloadable tool that empowers you to automate Anaplan actions. This lightweight tool still relies on the same types of flat files that can be manually uploaded into Anaplan. Once this tool is installed on your computer, you can package that point-and-click process in a script (.bat or .sh files). These scripts work well with external scheduling tools, enabling you to schedule and automate a data upload/download from Anaplan's cloud platform. Most often, Anaplan Connect is used in conjunction with flat files, but it can also be used to connect to any relational database with JDBC.   JDBC JDBC stands for Java Database Connectivity. It is the industry standard API for database-independent connectivity between Java and a wide range of SQL databases, as well as other tabular data sources. A JDBC connection relies on Anaplan Connect to handle the Anaplan side of the integration; it has a separate category because this is the only type of Anaplan Connect script that will contain an SQL query. As with any non-JDBC integration using Anaplan Connect, Anaplan must already have a template file stored as a data source. As long as this data source is available within the Anaplan model, a JDBC integration differs from a flat file Anaplan Connect script when it comes to selecting the file for import. With a JDBC integration, this is the result of an SQL query instead of the location of a flat file. The results of this query are passed directly to Anaplan without needing to store a file.
