An Accepted Solution is a way for you to choose the reply that best answers a question that you've posted. When you accept a solution, both the question and the solution get special icons and links that take you directly from the question to the answer.
An Accepted Solutions icon also appears on boards and in search results, so you can see which messages have solutions.
Hyperlinks are automatically created on the first post within the topic.
You can mark a solution as accepted only for questions that you've posted (you started the thread). Community moderators can also mark one of the replies to a message as an accepted solution.
How do I mark a message as a solution?
To mark a message as a solution, click Accept as Solution on the reply.
The topic's author will see this option on all responses within their topic.
If you change your mind, or if another reply provides an even better answer, you can revoke the first selection and accept the second reply.
To revoke an accepted solution, click Options > Not the Solution.
Select the Options menu, and then “Not the Solution” to remove the designation.
You can choose another solution or leave the question unsolved, if desired.
What are the benefits of Accepted Solutions?
Accepted solutions ultimately create visual indicators and useful hyperlinks (as seen above) that provide a faster, more efficient method for Community members to find the content and answers they need. Members with similar or identical questions can quickly search, scan, and obtain support without posting duplicate topics in the forums.
We encourage all Community members that post new topics to the forums to mark replies that solved their issue or answered their question as accepted solutions. The topic’s original poster is ultimately responsible for marking a reply as an accepted solution.
Friendly reminders may be shared with the original poster on occasion to encourage them to mark solutions as accepted solutions so that all members may benefit from the action. Please observe the Anaplan Community Guidelines when encouraging others, especially the following guidelines:
Respect individuals by keeping your tone positive, your comments constructive, and your language appropriate for a public forum.
Assume positive intent.
Help others solve problems and succeed by contributing to discussions.
Embrace new ideas and creative solutions.
Give and receive feedback fearlessly, with respect and honesty.
Use your passion to inspire others and help them succeed.
Please note, harassing requests to mark posts as solutions, badgering of Community members, and aggressive posts will be removed from the forums and can lead to members being banned from participating across all areas of the Anaplan Community.
Share your thoughts in the discussion below and a member of the Anaplan Community team will respond to you as soon as possible.
Re: Accepted Solutions Guidelines in Community Forums
Great post! @KayneSchwarz sometimes there can be unsolved solutions and solutions which may be a bug or an unknown (potentially an issue or request that has never been done before or impossible), will there a process for getting the unsolved requests solved or listing these as not possible. Would be really helpful in highlighting what sometimes is not possible or beyond Anaplan capabilities or cannot be done using best practice.
We do our best to capture and report on all of those types of issues in the Known Issues and Workarounds section of the Community. But, if you encounter something that isn't on that list, please do let us know. You can always forward the topic to us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or even tag myself or another Community admin in the post using the "@" symbol before our username.
