Is best practice to have flat lists in spoke model or only hierarchy?

Hi,

When building saved views in the data hub to export/build lists in the spoke model is it best practice to first build flat list in spoke model and then have the actual saved view building the hierarchy in the spoke model, or should that saved view module building the hierarchy be already be in the hub?
