Level 2 Model Building Training - Activity: Create Process to Build Hierarchy

Some instructions are not very clear in LM2, maybe that is by intent to help build more independently.

I'm struggling with the below, not sure what does the text mean - Clean up the actions from importing the data files into the flat files?

Also, remember to rename the actions in the correct sequence - what actions are being referred to here?

  • Hi @SatyamArora,

What they mean (Clean up the Actions) is,

when ever you create an action -> Anaplan defines the name of the action First.

(We have to rename the action)

    Read this article: https://help.anaplan.com/anapedia/Content/Modeling/Good_Practice/Good_Practice_Naming_Conventions.html#Actions

After renaming we have to arrange them in a proper order.

                   Proper Order means:

Eg: if you create 2 list, were the 1st list is the parent of 2nd list. In this case you have to load 1st List First then you have to Load Second List.

While creating a process you should put Load 1st action First then Load 2nd List Action, because when you change this sequence it is inappropriate and it leads an error. This called ordering.

So Whenever you create an action follow the Naming convention and arrange the actions in a proper order, so that it is easy for us to understand.

All the best for your exams :-).

  • Thanks @prabhu, so the import which was done using CSV files, will be renamed to 5.1 - 5.5. I figured eventually but just thought the description in the training on that part wasn't very clear.

Thanks for your wishes for the exam 🙂
