SFDC Ananplan Integration, User Identification with custom field rather than standard USERNAME field

In order to integrated two entity ( SFDC and Aspire ) we need to perform below steps :

For User Authentication what anaplan is saying '(Make sure that each Salesforce.com user name matches the Anaplan login name, which is typically the user's work email address.)'

 

But honestly, I have seen in my all previous companies that username is not exactly as email id in Salesforce. Because username is unique and what if 1 person with 1 email need to have two different user profile for internal purpose (example marketing + support ). Then either he need to create 2 email, which is not feasible solution.  

 

In REST call for authentication, anaplan should have feasibility of using custom field or other field rather than standard username. 

I vote for having a new custom field for authenitcation rather than standard field
