Hello everyone,   When using the Excel Add-In, we find many advantages such as overall better selection/filters for line items and dimensions in the Pivot & Filter section, however a major drawback of using the add-in here is that we cannot select levels like in the browser. Unless I haven't found how to do it properly, trying to replicate this feature in Excel is extremely long and makes the Excel Add-In inefficient when the user needs to select levels.   Would it be possible to see the "Select Levels to show" feature implemented in the Excel Add-In ?   Thank you.   Best regards. ... Currently we have an instance were business users are required to provide commentary to forecast data every month, for board presentation. However, if we publish the line item (with text format) on the page using a KPI card the user is unable to do line break or any text formatting, but rather text content comes out has block of text. We have figured out a way using the excel plugin, where we enter the commentary from excel using the text formatting options and update the data on the page. However, it would be beneficial to have some functionality for this option, so the user are able to enter the commentary straight on the page.   ... View more

In the current version of the Excel Add-in, it is not possible to create a connection to a saved view or module with a total cell count of the dimensions (rows x columns) greater than 1 million. Any saved views with hidden line items or filters applied will not have an effect on the view size and will therefore not connect. The current workaround is to move more dimensions to "Pages" to reduce the count of columns x rows and save this as a new view. However, this solution does not apply to modules with only two dimensions as the Excel Add-in requires at least one list in both row and column dimensions.   The idea is to remove or increase the cell count limit (preferably by a factor of 100) to improve the usability of this tool. ... As a Model Builder I want to create a Process to trigger multiple Export actions at once, each export linked to a different module.  However, the Process generates as many files (csv, Excel, txt,...) as the number of Export Actions within the Process.    It would be better if the Process could generate a single file (CSV, Excel, Txt, etc...) only, and the file will contain as many Spreadsheets as the number of Export action within the Process. ... Anaplan to generate detailed log of Excel add-in sync in history. A cell level change log as we see for any Anaplan cell in any of the modules.Ex: 1. Value of one cell in excel add-in got change from 1000 to 80. 2. We do refresh and sync data. 3. Anaplan generates a log in history for this line item value against that cell getting changed from 1000 to 800 by a bulk data change. 4. Right now if we go to a cell then it shown the final value but does not show the previous value. 5. moment when you set up an spreadsheet reports pack via the excel add in you select a model to work from and are not able to change this.  I would like to be able to change the model you look up to without having to rebuild the reports pack.   We have a medium sized reports pack that works in the excel add in taking a lot of data from Anaplan and populating various spreadsheets that are used as reports on the model.  I have recently run a slightly different scenario by copying the live model and making some changes to my assumptions (the design of the model remains the same just some assumptions on things like when we start construction and how many sites we will buy next year).  however I am not able to provide the usual reports unless I rebuild the reports packs from scratch.  It would be much more efficient if I could just change the model that the 7 or so Anaplan reports look up to and refresh the workbook rather than have to spend a lot of time rebuilding this from scratch each time I run a new scenario.  I appreciate that this could cause issues if users are trying to switch the link to models which have different designs / dimensions but it would be useful for this kind of scenario modelling. ... Can we update the Powerpoint Addin to support all of the available charts that are available in the latest version of Powerpoint such as the Waterfall chart as an example. Since it is a case of providing data in the correct format for the underlying Excel spreadsheet that PPT uses as the basis of the chart this should be possible even if we have to create a specific format in the Anaplan model. Currently you get an error if you change the type in the PPT slide with a linked chart to an unsupported graph type. ... View more

When using the Excel Add-In, there is currently no way to restrict a module from being pulled into Excel if a user is provided access to that module.   We have multiple users whose roles require them to view confidential data within Anaplan, but they should not have the ability to export the data out of Anaplan. Within Anaplan’s dashboard settings, the ability to restrict a user from being able to export a module does exist and is necessary to prevent specific data from being accessed outside of Anaplan, such as a salary detail module used in our Budgeting model. If we allow users to use the Excel Add-In, we lose our ability to ensure users are not storing or accessing this data outside of the Anaplan interface and thereby lose our ability to maintain control over the security of the data.   We would like to see an additional security setting that allows us to “lock-down” specific modules to ensure that confidential information is not able to be exported outside of Anaplan via the Excel Add-In. ... hi, we've got users who have been asked to increase the security of the data they hold. They currently use Excel Add-ins, and tried putting password protection onto their spreadsheet. However, the data uploads failed with password protection activated (even though they'd already opened the spreadsheet with the password). We'd like this functionality to be available, so that the add-in is compatible with password protection. In theory, if a user has already opened the spreadsheet up and input the password, then it shouldn't be needed again with uploading/downloading data. Thanks, Andrew. ... View more

Description of the enhancement required:   Allow disabling of Update notification in Excel/PPT Add-Ins. An example of the enhancement:   An Administrator could determine whether End Users should receive the Update notification in the Excel/PPT Add-In. Excel Add-In error: Refresh failed due to unexpected error. Found out that when the Excel template is created with Regional settings [ ex. decimal symbol as Dot / . ] is different from your system settings [ ex. Decimal symbol Comma / , ]  then the refresh fails and shows up unexpected error.   This is solved as soon as the Changes are made in Control Panel > Change Date Time Settings > Additional Settings.   Hope this is resolved in future releases.  ...
