It's easy to import users into Anaplan and it's so much quicker than adding multiple users manually. You can import the email address, first and last names, role, and selective access for each user.
You can only add, delete, or edit users if you're a Workspace Administrator (the Workspace Administrator setting can't be imported).
Before you start
If you're importing the role for a user, make sure that the role is set up prior to importing. See Roles.
If you're importing the selective access for a user, make sure that the Selective Access Enabled? check box is selected on the Configure tab for the relevant list. See General Lists.
To import users into a model:
In Model Settings click Users and then the Import button.
The Select Source dialog displays.
Click Upload New File and browse for the text file containing the new user details. An example is shown below.
For new users, the username (email), first name, and last name are compulsory. For existing users, if you're amending the selective access, it's just the email that's needed.
In the File Options dialog, specify appropriate values for Column Separators, Text Delimiters, Decimal Seperator, whether the Header Row is the first row, and which
row in your file contains the First Data Row. Click Next.
In the Import: ... dialog, map the fields of data in your source file to the destination fields in Users. You can select values from your source file, using the dropdown lists on the left of the dialog. the destination
in Anaplan is listed on the right.
Click Run Import. The Import Completed dialog will show the success of the import.
In Users, you will see the new user accounts.
Once the user accounts are set up, the users receive an email inviting them to log on to Anaplan where they can set and change their password (administrators cannot set a password for a user).
Users are not removed automatically if they do not appear in the source file. They have to be deleted manually.
