Excel Add-in: 'Refresh failed. The required name range could not be found'
This item has been identified as an outstanding known issue. A workaround is provided until the issue is officially fixed.
Issue In certain situations, when refreshing connections in the Anaplan Excel Add-in, the user can be presented with the error message 'Refresh failed. The required name range could not be found'. This bug can be caused by performing a combination of following actions when one or more workbooks are open at the same time:
Cloning/creating new connections
Renaming a sheet
Deleting a sheet
Creating a copy of a sheet
This issue can also manifest itself as the refresh details of each connection (after clicking refresh workbook) appearing in the wrong window of Excel (only valid when multiple workbooks are open at the same time). This can give the impression that either the workbooks contains no connections, or more connections than it should have.
This bug is present in versions 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, and 3.4
If you are presented with this error message when trying to refresh a connection, please do the following steps:
Log out of the Anaplan Excel Add-in
Save and close all workbooks
Ensure that Excel is completely closed
Re-open the workbooks one-by-one and attempt to refresh the connections.
