Maintaining a logical order of the lists and actions in your modules will enable an intuitive and efficient experience when navigating within your model. Taking some time to think about which organization makes the most sense for your model will save
time for administrators and for users.
As a model builder, Actions are a key part of the model’s structure. Use a combination of numbers, letters, and locations to name Actions and make processes easy to identify. Be sure to include the source and the destination location, as that will
help you navigate to the correct action each time. If you need to edit an Action, you'll be able to locate it quickly. Best Practice: Naming Conventions provides advice about naming Actions.
As you can see here, a list of imports (on the left) has been transformed by the addition of some numbering and locations, making the process much clearer and easier to read.
You can also search through your actions to find the one you want to work with. Click then type the first few characters of the action
you want to find.
A list of matching results is displayed. Select the action from the list. It's highlighted, so you can select it and then publish, run, edit, delete, or reorder, as required.
The Actions tab shows which processes and dashboards include each action.
