Complete Training for Model Builders from Anaplan Academy

New, aspiring, and experienced Model Builders can now come to Anaplan Academy for all the training they need to improve their Anaplan skills. Here’s an overview of the three levels available on demand in the Learning Center or with an instructor either in-person or virtually.

 

Level 1 Model Builder Training is meant for Anaplan Business Owners, Model Builders, Data Analysts, and Project Managers. It is 20-30 hours on-demand, broken up into easy-to-complete micro-lessons, or 3 days instructor-led.

This class provides the quick start needed for a collaborative and successful Anaplan project. It will give learners the resources, information, and training to enable, empower, and excite their team about using Anaplan to drive business value. Through it, learners will get the foundational Anaplan concepts and technical model-building skills needed to participate in an Anaplan implementation.

  • Identify basic building blocks of Anaplan
  • Use dimensions in models
  • Access and use basic model building features
  • Manually import data into a model
  • Create basic formulas within individual modules and across modules
  • Design and create dashboards
  • Set model access for users

In addition, you will explore:

  • Anaplan and multi-dimensionality
  • Model building and design decision points
  • Requirements for a successful implementation

Level 2 Model Builder Training is designed for Anaplan Model Builders and Data Analysts. It is 25-35 hours on-demand, broken up into easy-to-complete micro-lessons, or 4 days instructor-led.

This class takes Anaplan learning to the next level by guiding the learner through a true connected planning use case. In this training, you will learn how to build across multiple use cases, develop a Data Hub model, and connect models with model-to-model integrations. You will develop formula and feature skills in Anaplan with the advanced model building lessons offered here.

  • Use data management best practices (including Data Hub models)
  • Leverage Import/export best practices
  • Incorporate PLANS into your model
  • Determine how process defines a model build
  • Design security solutions
  •  Utilize Dynamic Cell Access (DCA)
  • Use saved views, exports, and filters best practices

In addition, you will explore:

  • Agile Implementation Methodology
  • Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)
  • Version capabilities
  • When to use numbered lists
  • Beginning techniques to think like a Model Builder

Level 3 Model Builder Training was created for Anaplan Model Builders who want to be Solution Architects. It is 25-45 hours on-demand, broken up into easy-to-complete micro-lessons.

Level 3 builds on best practices learned in Level 1 and Level 2 Model Building to design an Anaplan model. From there, you will further develop your knowledge of Anaplan model design principles and best practices. And you will continue to build on your connected planning knowledge and skills by adding a new use case to your educational experience.

  • Design end user experience based on customer’s end user requirements and business processes
  • Design Model Schema diagram
  • Identify Data Integration options
  • Identify when to distribute a model
  • Advanced Time modeling techniques
  • Utilize the User List for a more customizable experience

In addition, you will explore:

  • Leveraging requirements from end users to develop front-to-back model designs
  • Convert user stories into system architecture diagrams
  • Beginning to design a model that holistically and seamlessly integrates with existing models
  • How to apply principles of front-to-back design to model building
