I totally agree!!
I was looking for a solution that could to this for the model I'm building, but crossed this post that basically says it's impossible unless in a static way which is a bit of a disappointment..
Hopefully Anaplan can implement this soon!
Right, there are also workarounds by using Pseudo-Version lists, but additional buildout still required. Not the most fun thing to do!
Definitely want this! It will only be useful if it comes with LOOKUP on versions and also syntax like ITEM(Versions), NAME(ITEM(Versions)) and FINDITEM(Versions, 'Version Name').
You can sum over versions (and do ALL, ANY, MIN, MAX, FIRSTNONBLANK etc.) if you build a module to do it, using PREVIOUSVERSION and NEXTVERSION. But it's a bit of work.
We need VERSION formated LINE ITEMS, so users can compare different versions dynamically.
Otherwise, to compare 4 versions, you would need 16 !! variance versions.
Now this is only possible by changing hard coded formulas (admin only)?
Also, functions LOOKUP, SELECT and SUM, should work on this version formatted selection line.
