Workforce Planning — How to use technology to support planning processes (a Gartner research report)
According to Gartner, "when it comes to the HR view on workforce planning, 77% of HR leaders feel workforce planning is important for their own success, and planning for future talent needs is the primary concern for HR leaders when it comes to the future of work. Yet, only half of HR leaders are very confident in their HR functions’ capability to execute workforce planning at their organizations, and only 44% of them actually have extensive exposure to their organizations’ workforce planning activities."
"Workforce planning can mean different things to different people depending on their role in the organization. This can range from tactical workforce scheduling optimization, capacity planning, or headcount planning through to strategic workforce planning. All of which aim to support the organization in having the workforce skills, capabilities and capacity to deliver on its mission and strategy, in the short- and long-term. Each of which, however, is focused on a different set of questions or processes."
