Spaulding Ridge has created this app as a guide for using the CREATE, DELETE, and ASSIGN actions to modify numbered lists in projects. Also included is an alternative method for updating numbered lists using the IMPORT action. This app will help users understand what the differences are between a Numbered List and a normal List, and provide detailed explanations as to when Actions related to numbered lists should be used. Common examples of when the functionality built in this app might be used are: the creation of new TBH's in an Employee List, Assigning Employees to Territories, or Removing terminated employees.
This app will take users through the instances when creating a numbered list is needed, and explains the advantages and disadvantages of using them.
Learn how and when to build a CREATE action
What is a CREATE Action? A CREATE action creates a new row within a numbered list.
When would a CREATE Action be Used? A CREATE action would be used on a dashboard when end users need to create a new entry in a list. Ex. Creating a newly hired employee, or adding an account to a list of accounts
Learn how and when to build a DELETE action
What is a DELETE Action? The DELETE action removes items from a list based on a selection from a Boolean formatted line item, and is useful if you want to delete items from a very large list - one that contains thousands of items for example.
When would a DELETE Action be Used? A DELETE action would be used on a dashboard when end users need to remove an entry in a list. Ex. Removing a recently let-go employee, or removing an obsolete account from a list of accounts
Learn how and when to build an ASSIGN action
What is an ASSIGN Action? The action can be used to ASSIGN: People to Projects, Products to Customers, Products to Promotions, Accounts and Territories to Sales Reps
When would an ASSIGN Action be Used? An ASSIGN action would be used on a dashboard when end users need to assign or re-assign items.
Learn how and when to use an IMPORT to create many items at once
What is an IMPORT Action? An IMPORT action creates items within a numbered list based on an import of data from another module.
When would an IMPORT Action be Used? An IMPORT action can used on a dashboard when end users need to create multiple new entries in a list using a form. Ex. Creating a batch of newly hired employees, or adding multiple accounts to a list
