Hi All This topic is very interesting for me, as we are exploring this topic as a future development We are looking to build functionality that will allow multiple parents off a single child member and specify which hierarchies should be used in which part of the model This will obviously save a lot of the complexity and mapping (as above), as well as saving model space, because the data does not need to be repeated for the child member. It is also very relevant for our new calculation engine as difference levels within hierarchies are a key component of the calculations needing to be performed To help me capture a full set of use cases please could you reply with examples of how and why this functionality would help you (i.e. industry, use case, complexity etc.) I have a lot "in my head" already, but it will be great to validate those against the field requirements Many thanks in advance David

@Pankhuri As @rob_marshall mentioned it is only about creating the mapping. Here are the steps that need to be performed. Step 1: Create a Property in Exhaustive List. Format it to Flat List and map the items Step 2: Create a module and insert two line items. First format it to Flat List and Second Format it to Exhaustive List Step 3: Check the box of Dependent in Second Line item. It should automatically pick the relevant list here, if not pick the lists in the dropdown Step 4: Go to grid view of the module and see for yourself if it is working Hope that helps Misbah

@jasonblinn and @rob_marshall thank you. I always thought standard lists reset as you load new list items. Good to know. It is true that this is being wiped and rebuilt but it's a function of the process - since we don't have a time dimension below day the UID requires a concatentation of this time interval and since it is a rolling 7 months snapped to the beginning and ending of the months, for 500 members (which are regularly changing too) it's a constant build and drop. I suppose with some creativity, I can slow it down by dropping a month and adding a month but it will inevitably reach that 1B limit again. Thanks @rob_marshall I may take you up on that chat. I'm sure there's a better way!

Hi @saurav4ss Thank you for sending the screenshots. First regarding your question " I have exported from the same module in which i have to upload so how can the source and target format will be different?" I believe because you said in your first post "as the exported file has week as time dimension but the target has format of ddmmyyyy to ddmmyyyy." I assumed you are exporting from a source module with weeks time format and you will import in a target module with months time format. Hope that was clearer. You need to give Anaplan the correct Time/Date Format so it can match it to the source (with weeks time/date format) in the Time tab. Review @JaredDolich response, it shows you how you can give Anaplan a Time/date format to match the week format in your source file. It seems like Anaplan doesn't have a dedicated "week" format, so you can use the "?" to match the W/c part then Use DD-MMM-YY to match the rest of your format.

@1454884 Only bring in the data at the level (granularity) you need into the spoke models. So, if you have transactional (daily level) data in the hub but only use Monthly level data in the spoke model, only bring that into the spoke model. Understand what data you really need for that model and what granularity and only bring that in. Rob

@tompoloz , Before you start adding more years to the overall model, I see the filter is checked. Can you please open the filter and look at the Time tab and see if it is using a filter? It could be as easy as changing a formula in a Time Filter module to include more weeks. Rob

Hi @rodriguezramiro only WS Admins can add/edit users. so you can’t really have a non-WSA change users. You want such function/action to be in the hands of WSA only (and perhaps only one of the WSAs) non-WSA can not manually access the user list so they also won’t have access through a process.

@Sai_Bharadwaj_Venati You've got it. You're thinking is correct. L2 is a game changer IMHO. You build the list flat in the DH. You build a system module in the DH with all the details about the list including the code, name, and parent. You build an import from the system module in the DH (source) to the spoke list (target) Build the parents first and work your way down. As @Misbah mentioned never import list to list - he covered all the reasons why. As @rob_marshall mentioned read the data hub peak performance best practice. It's the best article you'll ever read, trust me. One Exception: Sometimes you need to test the data in the DH so you might need to build a structured list there. But once you're done with your test, remove the structured list.

Thanks, Rob. I keep thinking of Anaplan like Excel, and trying to retrieve data with index(match). Still working my way to align formulas with Anaplan structure. The All periods makes sense.
