This item has been identified as an outstanding known issue. A workaround is provided until the issue is officially fixed. Issue An attempted ALM sync fails and the following error is received: "An internal error occurred while preparing the structural changes for synchronization. Reason for error: To serve as an access driver, a summary method other than None must be present on any line item dimensions that don't match those of the target module or line item." This error is still received even if no summary line items are set to 'None'. This issue can manifest itself in a few different ways, but they all involve the Applies To values for the DCA driver line items and modules. This setup below will produce the error when syncing, the list subset is required, and notice the Applies To configuration: There are variations with the Applies To where the sync works and also when it does not: Works when you have both M1 and M2 with Applies To set at the module level, nothing set at the line item level. You can add the formula and it syncs successfully. Works when you have M1 Applies To set at module level and M2 set at the line item level. You can add the formula and it syncs successfully. Does NOT work when you have both M1 and M2 with Applies To set at the line item level only, so nothing set at the module level. You will get the same error as above. Does NOT work when you have both M1 and M2 with Applies To set at both the module and line item level. You will get the same error. Workaround To work around this issue, please follow these steps: Remove the access driver from the dev. model Create a new revision tag and perform a sync to the prod. model Replace the driver in the dev. model Create a new revision tag and perform a sync to the prod. model If this workaround is not suitable in your use case, please contact Support at support@anaplan.com. --- Internal Reference: ALM-1361
