Saving any data against parent members in a flat hierarchy or derive their levels.

Hi,

As part of our use case, we need to publish org charts. After careful consideration, a flat hierarchy works best (not as per best practices, I understand), but when it comes to publishing KPIs on Pages, it seems almost impossible to calculate something at parent level.

e.g. Here is the list. It's a flat Hierarchy

How do I get the data populated against parent members. I just need to track 1 text or list formatted property against each of them?

Any help is appreciated.

@aakash Just ideas - This solution below only works with 2 levels of ragged hierarchy.

For parent child lists, it is achievable for any levels of hierarchy

@aakash Not sure but was the original problem you weren't able to post different calculated values at different levels of the hierarchy? If yes, you do not need to publish it in to a flat list. Look at the post below and see if it assists

What is the third part of the hierarchy, the marked out piece? Have you thought about removing that piece from the hierarchy and making a list of that only, then having a module with both dimensions in the Applies To?

The third part is not to be a separate dimension, it's just some confidential part of the list names, that's why I hid those. This is a 10 level hierarchy used to populate org chart, so really can't do anything else.

We currently have a composite hierarchy, but that needs balancing to populate data against each level which is really expensive on performance.
