Re: Add 'Does Not Contain' as condition when performing a filter on a text formatted line item
Hello @pbenz, @Miran, @AnaplanIdeas
Any update about this idea ?
If we could have "not end with" and "not start with" as well.
What if we could use * to replace one or more characters and ? to replace strictly 1 character too...
Re: Enhance ALM to pick and choose objects to sync with production
working on large implementations with multiple development teams has been incredibly complex and frankly made customers dislike how anaplan manages prod promotion. this approach would be a significant improvement for the platform.
Re: Circular Reference Problem
Hi @andrewtye
Thanks for the response, you are absolutely right. I figured out that the REP03 module was causing the issue the final cost line was referenced in the module as its a summary module.
Now I used an actual module which rectified it. and didn't have to do Time Setting by Versions.Version.
This is issue with inheriting models without full knowledge 😊 of the model. I should check the model map next time.

Re: Avoid creating duplicate items in list when importing from a versioned module
@klameer - The line item Emp+Amount used in the RANK function ranks each individual unique combination of employee and amount across multiple versions. SEQUENTIAL in RANK function will make sure if there is same combination across multiple versions, it will give it sequential ranking 1,2,3 and so on. So here our ranking is grouped amongst each emp + Amount combination. But glad it works for you 😉

Most things have already been covered, but the 3 things that have been the most useful to myself and my team this past year are:
- Syntax checker in the formula editor: I can't count how much time this has saved us from accidentally triggering the blue "toaster" of death! The additional enhancements such as indenting have been great as well, but in terms of time savers, this has been an excellent and needed improvement.
- Workflow: While we haven't yet implemented it, this has been on the wishlist for many of our end users for years now, and once we get this implemented we will be able to speed up so many tasks which are currently handled disparately through email and instant messaging! Hurray for clear audit trails!
- Context selectors on top of cards: For so many of our NUX builds, this has made a clear quality-of-life improvement with very little time spent by our CoE. A great small enhancement that has been very helpful for us!
Cheers to more great releases in 2024!
Unique ID longer than 60 chars
Hi,
As per Anaplan's best practice in loading data, we are trying to create unique ID, however, since the original codes are very long, the unique IDs we are trying to create by concatenating the codes of the different dimensions are longer than 60 characters long. For example, we have Cost Center, Measure, FinGeo etc, and the codes when combining are longer than 60 but Anaplan allows only 60. How do we resolve this issue. There is an option to create unique IDs in Anaplan, however, since we have different environments, not sure if the Anaplan-generated unique IDs would be a good idea.
Any suggestions?

Re: L3 Account Assignment
Agreed - Activity 4.4 should be lifted to the beginning of the Sprint otherwise it is extremely confusing.

Happy new year everyone !
Selecting only 3 new features is a challenge, which is great, as there were several new ones, particularly towards the 2nd half of the year.
All in all I think 2023 demonstrated the Anaplan roadmap is progressing well (better than previous years) on several big streams.
So, here is my top 3 :
User uploaded images
Improving the look and feel in this area was a big necessity. I think we were all working with unsuitable workarounds that were causing big headaches
2. Workflow
Another necessity for the planning world and huge topic that has been in the roadmap for years. The development and functionality that was eventually deployed represents a big milestone and is the result of a big investment.
It's definitely an area that need and will continue to evolve but represents a big opportunity to replace manual solutions that are way too complex.
I reserve the right to have mixed feelings re: the licencing decision of workflow
3. Expand/collapse in page selectors
This is a credit to a peace of functionality that be made available this quarter for data grids as well. Something users are very much used in Excel and that competitors handle pretty well already so I was very keen to see this first milestone reached and I'm very much looking forward to see it implemented into grids !
Thanks !
Re: My favorite new Anaplan features in 2023
The run time report per action brings the most value from a model builder stand point, in my opinion. Otherwise there was little we could do to obtain this information, while for the sorting, formatting or summary (while also useful) model builders and users had other ways of getting to the same result (as pointed out in the post, more tedious ways, but was possible nevertheless).
It is not listed on the post, but I had a look at geomapping and I loved it. I think is very useful for Supply Chain applications to visualise the supply network and therefore gain better understanding of lead times, primary suppliers and other important considerations.
