Retrieving target of import action

Hi, we are working on getting model metadatas using the anaplan api, especially the way data flows between files and modules using process and imports

 

Is there somewhere in the apis a way to get

- the action target desination object (list or module id) defined ?

- the actual mapping setup (how the ids columns map to target dimensions or line items) ?

 

For the last one, When running comparison reports with alm, we get the mapping setup changes for instance, so the information is available somewhere.

This is something similar to what I raised with @chanaveer_k and @AshwinK  at Anaplan Live, earlier last week, regarding enhanced metadata for import actions. In addition to the destination, being able to retrieve the source programatically would go a great deal in being able to generate data flow maps efficiently for any/all models. Currently, the source ID is only available when the import action is linked to a flat file data source. Anything linked to a view unfortunately returns importDataSource as blank. 

 

There wasn't anything explicit they could share regarding new APIs/enhancements to existing APIs, however it's always good to raise this, to provide them feedback that customers are wanting these features. 

 

That being said, let's see if there is anything new that can be shared? 🙂 @chanaveer_k @AshwinK

I see we are not alone with requirements to build full data maps /flows.

Actually this is a regulatory requirement we need to complete.

Do you have an idea posted that we could kudos or should i create a new one to raise visibility around this enhancement ?

Hi @david.savarin / @kevin.cho - Thanks for feedback on Anaplan data integration APIs. An Anaplan IdeaExchange post will definitely help in getting buy-in from other users and raising priority of this request. Can you please post it there as well? Also, include a sample output, which you think the Import action metadata should provide if source is another model or View/List.
