Impact of Exports

Hi,

Hypothetically, if I have an export running for 2 hours, what all does that export block in the model? I reckon users can still navigate around in the model/app but they won’t be able to run any action or make any manual changes (user inputs). Is my understanding correct and are there other things the user can’t do?

We tested this by concurrently making manual changes while we run an export and it seems like we can make changes without any issues. Thanks for looking into this.

The other thing is that the drill-through/down functionality also stops working until the process completes.

Exports will block the data entry but users can navigate within model, but imports will block the model, neither you can do any data entry nor you can navigate.

Just wanted to understand why your export is taking 2hrs. You have created a saved view for only the necessary data with filters without summaries right.
