Data Hub to Spoke Model Line Items or Subset
I am building a data hub and spoke models. Currently, I have:
- built a data hub with system shared lists. It holds flat lists that only consist of list items and list codes.
- used modules in the data hub to assign line items which act as parents, grandparents and other metadata to the flat lists.
- saved specific views to pull into the spoke model
My question is, when pulling data into the spoke model, should the line items (metadata) stored in the data hub be set up as list properties? Is this the most efficient way or should the line items from the data hub be formula driven in the spoke model?

@BlakeBair It is actually not recommended to use list properties. This goes against Planual guidance. If you can set the line items as formula driven in the spoke model then that would even be better than just importing the data values from the data hub as it also aligns to Planual guidance

Thank you for your guidance.
I have been looking through the articles you attached in your message but I am struggling to find the way to formulate the metadata to pull into the spoke model.
I have set up metadata in the data hub for a Boolean, Text, and Number format. Do you have any guidance on writing formula in the spoke module to pull from the data hub?

@BlakeBair I recommend you take the model builder courses if you haven't done so. The information you require is part of Level 2 and it will take a few days to go through the course but will be highly worth while.

@TristanS. I have completed the lessons and after reviewing again I have found that in Level 2 sprint 1 - 1.3.5, 1.3.8 they do use a list property in the spoke model for "G3 Location Factory?". This is imported from the datahub model source module "SYS06 Location Details". Moreover, as far as I am aware there is no way to formulate a Lookup, or equivalent, from one model to another.
