Use of PREVIOUS function

I'm sure I've used the "PREVIOUS" function before without any problems but on trying to use recently it doesn't now seem to be returning the values I would expect

As you can see the formula Previous(Volume) is specified, which I would have expected it to return the FY23 volume value of 218,116; however, this doesn't seem to be the case. I've included some design view screenshots in case that helps

I may be misunderstanding, but it doesn't look like you are using the Previous() function, but rather a lookup to the previous year.

And, if you are only looking at the year, change the timescale for Previous Volume to Year instead of Month.

Hi Rob,

Appreciate your response - sorry it was me not having put the correct screenshot in before, this is the one that I should have put in and it wasn't returning expected values - however having volume set as timescale of month and previous volume set as year seems to have rectified this, thank you.

Hi@ChrisMcCarthy , any reason why year (volume) vs year(previous volume) is not working in your case. what was the expected value & what were you getting? have you tried drilldown option to identify the issue.
