Grid max rows - best practices
Hello,
On a page, according to best practices, what is the maximum number of rows I can have for a grid?
I heard it's 300 rows but not sure if solved https://community.anaplan.com/discussion/158001/management-reporting-remove-the-300-rows-on-grids-limit

Hi Frank
In Anaplan, the best practices for the number of rows in a grid can vary depending on the context and the specific use case. However, there are some general guidelines and limitations to be aware of:
Best Practices for Grid Rows in Anaplan
- Performance Considerations:
- Performance Impact: Large grids with many rows can impact performance, making the application slower and less responsive. It's essential to balance the need for detailed data with the performance implications.
- User Experience: Consider the user experience. Too many rows can make it difficult for users to navigate and find the information they need.
- Technical Limitations(Management reporting):
- Default Limits: Historically, Anaplan has had a default limit of 300 rows for grids in management reporting. This limit is in place to ensure optimal performance and usability.
- Customization: Depending on your specific requirements of Anaplan, there might be ways to customize or work around these limits. However, this should be done with caution and a thorough understanding of the potential impact on performance.
- Alternatives and Solutions:
- Pagination: Implementing pagination can help manage large datasets by breaking them into smaller, more manageable chunks.
- Filters and Views: Use filters and custom views to display only the most relevant data, reducing the number of rows displayed at any one time.
- Summary Tables: Consider using summary tables to provide high-level overviews, with the option to drill down into more detailed data as needed.
Hope this helps!
