On the asset management projects I've worked on; the asset management use case itself is always prevalent. Tracking values at both cost and FMV, fees collected (asset management fees, and development/construction and property management fees if it's a real estate project), asset acquisition and disposals on an annual basis (mostly just future forecasts of capital allocation projections), capital stack per asset (GP/LP capital, any debt), cash flow projections and related IRR on an asset and fund basis, what funds each asset belongs too, legal names of the asset, etc. Wall Street Oasis is a great place to learn about the IB/Asset Management industries.
Hi Bala,
Do you have a prebuilt model or are you building a new model?
Hi Seymatas,
looking for building a new model
Congrats on becoming a certified Model Builder! Even if you have got the fundamentals of the Anaplan model architecture, there is still a lot to learn in Anaplan before you build a model.
Here are some key areas for further learning:
1.Application Lifecycle Management (ALM):
2. Data:
Data management can make or break an Anaplan project.
4. User Access Management:
5. Add-ins:
You may also want to explore Excel Add-in and Power BI Add-in if you plan to work with Anaplan data in other tools like Excel or Power BI.
In a typical project, there's usually a Solution Architect (SA) with at least a year of experience and a Model Builder (MB). The SA designs the model, and the MB builds it. If you’ve got an SA on your team, you can help build with your new skills, sharpen them, and learn even more along the way.
I will create another post on how to start building an investment banking model.
I hope this helps.

Concur with @seymatas1 - congratulations on your certifications. If you want to get really good at investment banking use cases I would recommend, in addition to Seyma's ideas, you thoroughly study the Anaplan financial functions (filter on classic & Financial functions on the right). Polaris has a very limited number of functions so be careful which planning engine you are using. Also IRR and NPV works a little different than you might expect. You'll need some practice using those. I recommend you check your results against Excel to test your accuracy.
Lastly, get comfortable with Line Item Subsets, LIS. This is a feature that lets you turn line items into a list. Very powerful for FP&A use cases.

We’re working on modeling inventory consumption at the lot level, accounting for shelf life considerations, since we need visibility into which lots may not consume—both for risk reporting and E&O analysis. Each item may have customers with different shelf life requirements. For example, item A may need 270 days for some…

Hi Anaplan Community, I'm working on a simulation planning model where users need the flexibility to input pricing adjustments at any level of the product hierarchy, and I’d love your guidance on best practices. 📌 Scenario Overview: We have a 4-level product hierarchy: Brand Category Sub Category SKU (lowest level) The…
