Four reasons the Anaplan Community is the BEST!
Hello Anaplanners!
November is a time of thanksgiving in the U.S. — and while I know our Community is worldwide — there is never a bad time to show thanks, right?!
Ginger, here. If you don’t know me, I manage the platform our Community runs on, and also a lot of the content posted weekly, along with my amazing content collaborators @becky.leung and @JamiesonC. One line item on my list of “things I’d love people to write about for the Community blog” is “thankfulness for Community.” This year I decided I wanted to take on that topic!
Without further ado, I present to you four reasons I am thankful for and appreciate the Anaplan Community (YOU!).
- We uplift each other, and I see it DAILY!
One of my favorite things to do is pop over to LinkedIn (join our Community Group if you haven’t yet!), and check out what’s going on and what y’all are talking about there. Without fail, I see members from our Community sharing, helping, and encouraging each other. The same happens within this Community — knowledge sharing and the “there are no stupid questions” mentality has created a truly supportive environment open to everyone, no matter where they are in their Anaplan journey. It seems we’ve all learned what it takes others YEARS to learn… That supporting one another — even competitors or fellow consultants — pays off big time. It’s inspiring and refreshing, and I’m so thankful to be a part of a group that uplifts instead of tears down. - Your expertise and creativity.
Managing the Community resources (blogs, best practices, etc) means I publish 2-3 articles a week, and if you haven’t yet received a “Hi! Want to write a blog?” email from me…. Well, your time is coming! That being said, I am so thankful for all of you who have shared your technical expertise or thought leadership in a Community article. I firmly believe that EVERYONE has a story to tell or tips to share, and you all prove me right all the time! My very favorite though, is when someone surprises me and asks if they can create a tutorial or share how they built something completely random. Like a word game, fantasy football draft, or sudoku game. It is so fun being able to mix in a little bit of lightheartedness into our daily job! - You all are so on top of things!
We are a small Community team, and sometimes it takes one of you pinging me, “Hey Ginger! Have you noticed [this thing]?” for me to know that there is an issue that needs my attention. I’m always so thankful for that. It’s hard to have my eyes on Community 24 hours a day, but I don’t need to, because I have all of you! - We are problem solvers.
This is the best part. Our Community, and what happens in it, may seem like no big deal to some people. But in the larger scheme of things, what we are doing is big. We are helping companies operate more efficiently, make smarter decisions, and do better. I truly love being a part of a Community where so many people ARE solving BIG problems. We are making our impact on the world, one model, one connection, and one problem solved at a time.
Was that a sappy enough “I’m thankful for you all!” post? I hope so. Thank you all for inspiring me and others every day.
Cheers, my Anaplan friends!
Talk soon,
Ginger

@JaredDolich 40 reasons? That’s a precise number, I don’t even have 40 reasons about myself 😄
Starting to wonder if you know me better than I do! 🤔 Well, I started contributing to the community after being inspired by @Misbah @JaredDolich & @rob_marshall
