ADO - Select File on "Run"

Using Anaplan's traditional data import functionality when an import action linked to a csv file was triggered through a dashboard\UX page the end-user was prompted to select the file to import. The import uses the structure defined from the original file and applies it to the chosen file.

Can this same prompt be achieved using ADO so that a CSV file import can take advantage of the new transformation functionality (e.g. UID)?

    Hello!

Yes, you can achieve the same prompt using ADO (Anaplan Data Import) to import a CSV file and take advantage of the new transformation functionality, such as UID. By setting up the import action through ADO, you can choiceadvantages configure it to prompt the end-user to select the file, just like with the traditional data import functionality. This allows you to leverage the enhanced transformation features while maintaining the user-friendly file selection process.

  • @Loren075Keyser Thanks for the message, I was excited by the news as I thought I had missed something.

I started an import from scratch and worked through importing a CSV to ADO and setting up it up to import to a model.

During that set-up I couldn't find an option to ask for the source file each time the integration is run. I checked in the connections, source data and Links sections. I also checked the elipses options and every other setting I could find in ADO and the UX, to no avail.

As a result, when I publish the import to the UX it simply imports the original CSV.

Is anyone able to give me a little more detail on what setting I need to apply to allow an end user to trigger an ADO action from the UX and be prompted for the file to use?
