sort functionality for nested dimensions
In our Anaplan Model, for one of the modules , we moved the dimension from the Context selector to the Rows section. This is because we want the user to select the dimension using the "Field" Card [dropdown] instead of selecting it from the page selector. Based on the user's selection from dropdown, entire page will be filtered on the selected dimension value.
This change has however, caused the sort functionality to be disabled for the module. As I researched the Anaplan resources, I got to know that Tables in Anaplan cannot be sorted if there are nested dimensions.
Is there a work around to resolve the sort functionality for nested dimensions

Sort the list individually if it has no other impact for you by using Order List Action.

Hi @Himaniam ,
You can achieve the same result without having to pivot the table & then use the native sort functionality.
Keep the dimension in page selector & apply a filter to that.
Ideally create this filter user based (with the user dimension) so the user does not have to refresh the dashboard every time. It'd then work as expected-
Here if the user selects truck B it will filter only truck B in the below grid & you can then hide the page selector at the top.
Hope this helps! :)1 -
@Himaniam : Unfortunately, Anaplan does have Sorting functionality activated for the nested dimensions :(. I think there is some behind-the-scenes reason related to the Anaplan engine, but this is "by design".
As @devrathahuja mentioned, if your particular case, you can solve it by creating User filters and leave the second dimension in the page selector area in order to have only 1 dimension in the rows area.
Hope it helps,
Alex
