Setting up dimensions and measures for charts

Hi, 

How can I specify dimensions and measures for my bar chart or a coulmn chart.?

When i try to select a range then it is automatically picking up the x-axis and y-axis, but I want to set that differently in a chart.

Could you please help me with this query.

what chart are you trying to create?

In general, x-axis and y-axis depend on how you have pivoted your view.
