New UX Form - cannot select parent as the option is greyed out

Hi All

 

I've created a form to create new items in a list with a simple hierarchy. However, I can't seem to allocate a parent as the parent hierarchy is greyed out when you open the drop down.

 

The same happens even if I allow users to choose parent. They can't actually select a parent as the option is greyed out.

 

Any idea why this happens?

Thanks Misbah - apparently you have to set 'Parent' list as a production list as well. Cheers for that
