Dynamic Totaling for Lists with Selective Access

We have users who only have access to certain list items in the L3 list. They want to be able to see the total for the list items that they are responsible for. However, with selective access, totals for the hierarchy are hidden.

If we give them Read Access to the Top Level of the hierarchy, they will be able to see values/totals for all other list items, but they only want to see the total for the list items they oversee, not the entire hierarchy.

A feature which calculates a dynamic total for the hierarchy based on the list items an individual user has access to would be extremely helpful.

Our only workaround is to create a new module that is extremely sparse, which consumes a lot of space and calculation intensity.
