July 2024 platform releases

Check out the latest Anaplan feature updates and enhancements in our July 2024 release notes. The information below offers supplemental information to that post.

Planning and modeling

  • On-Demand Calculation in Polaris
Polaris will now only calculate aggregate-level intersection when needed, resulting in reduced model size and improved calculation performance.

UX

  • Hierarchy Charts
This new card type enables customers to visualize and interact with their list hierarchies in the UX, including org charts, product hierarchies, income statement variances, regions, territories, and more.

  • Workflow: Scheduling a workflow
When creating a Workflow template, builders have the option to "start immediately" or "start based on a schedule", including options for start and end dates, times of day, and workflow repetition.

  • Workflow: Approval decisions stop on reject by default
When adding a decision task to a template, the default will be to "stop workflow on rejection", saving Workflow builders time. This setting can be switched off, if needed.

  • Workflow: Flowchart visualizations everywhere
The flowchart visualizations originally introduced in the builder tool are now the default view throughout Workflow, for example when overriding settings or tracking progress of a workflow.

  • Workflow: Trigger workflows from a UX page
Workflow templates can now be linked to buttons on UX pages and made available for end users to use, allowing for greater flexibility.

  • Workflow: Create tasks and approvals from Management Reports
Builders can now select Management Reports as the subject of a task or approval, making Workflow a solution for orchestrating business process all the way from initial data to the boardroom.

Recording now available from our July 30 quarterly platform release event!

In this webinar, we highlighted the most recent feature releases and how to take advantage of these in your environment. Our Operational Excellence Group (OEG) went through a demonstration of the platform features, provided a technical deep-dive and "how-to", followed by a question and answer session with the audience. Check it out here.

Our next platform release event will be in late October 2024.
