In Workspace A developed a model called XYZ2025, which was archived after the fiscal year ended. Months later, a regional team in Workspace B wants to use that model as a foundation for their XYZ2026.
Here’s what happens:
- Workspace B cannot directly access or import the archived model.
- Workspace A must unarchive the model, which requires available workspace memory.
- The model must then be duplicated manually, often using exports and re-creation of modules, dashboards, and lists.
- This process is time-consuming, error-prone, and breaks model lineage—making it hard to track the origin and evolution of the model.
- If Workspace A is at capacity, the model cannot be unarchived, halting the process entirely.
Required Functionality
Anaplan should introduce a secure, permission-based feature to import archived models into another workspace. Key capabilities could include:
- Cross-workspace import: Select archived models from Workspace A and import them into Workspace B without unarchiving.
- Governance controls: Role-based access, audit logs, and version tracking.
- Bulk operations: Support for multiple archived models in one transfer.
