Is thier a way to limit the years that is available for selection when using the format line item as date?
Although I don't see an out of the box way to do this, you could create a date list that is time-limited as needed.
For example, it might be a 2-list hierarchy where:
List 1 has 3 levels Year, Month, Week
List 2 has dates
The selected date can easily be convered to a real date.
