We should have the option to hide the Parent/Summary item when used as dropdown list. Sometimes end users don't prefer to see this as they cannot select these items in the dropdowns list... And this confuses them.
I agree this is needed. Some of our lists have large hierarchies and when the users populate the dropdown list, the parents (which are then greyed out and can't be selected) take up the whole dropdown box and a lot of scrolling needs to be done. Even when they type in the name of list item they want to select, the parents still show.Β
