Character restriction on Code Import

Hi Team,

 

Recently we encountered an issue where we were importing data to a list, where unique identifier was to be added to the code and we find few records saying as invalid code.

 

Example: any unique identifier with underscore "_" was at the start or the end was giving error of being invalid code. Can we have these as accepted codes? Since in the vendor tools for the performance the unique identifier is created as mix of alphabets and these special characters, and if the character is in the middle it get's imported to the list, but gives an error where it is at the start or the end.

 

Can we have these fixed in the future releases.

Is there a workaround to this limitation? Curious what approach you take to resolve this? Working on POC and encountering the same issue
