We are not allowed to import data from a saved custom view and we are never allowed to pivot a template from saved view. So when are we allowed to pivot a card?

Hey, Can you please give more context here? Are you using the Excel add-in, extracting the data from Anaplan Saved View into Excel, and then trying to pivot?
I was using Excel Add-in for Office365.

Hi When you create saved view you cannot pivot the grid(pivot option gets disabled) but for custom views you can pivot the grid. If you take the export of saved view in excel 365 you can pivot the grid.

When you are pivoting are you applying any show/hide or filters If yes, there are few known issues and workaround. Please check those in the Known issues Section
