I wonder why I got a slight variance to the results shown.

Your numbers are exactly same for the given months.
The only variance is your saved view shows year sums. In order not to show the time sums you can create a filter to show months only.
Open the filter menu and go to Time tab then enable the SYS00 Time Settings : Forecast Months only Filter :
Then check your view again.
It should be fixed.
After that just overwrite your existing "Grid UX Saved View"
