A quick reminder of the Bulk Copy functionality.
Bulk Copy allows you copy large volumes of data from one slice of a model to another in a single, optimised operation, instead of using formulas or imports.
Use case: copy a version (RF1) into a prior year version (PY RF1) using a versions list to allow for year-on-year version analysis. This allows the prior year version to be populated, and overwritten the following year with the new prior year data.
An example structure of the list could be: PY RF1, PY RF2, PY RF3, PY Budget, RF1, RF2, RF3, Budget.
Then, with some simple # and % variance analysis, smart grids and visuals can be displayed on the UX showing insight into year on year data changes.
This could be set up as an import for each Current Year to Prior Year import, or each added to a process to be completed in one action at the end of each year.
