Change of E-mail Domain - User History and information

My Org, will be undergoing a rebranding soon and as a part of it the domain name of the email addresses will change

user@oldco.com → user@newco.com

We use Anaplan SSO for Login and Authentication, Once the SSO is reconfigured expect change reflect in Anaplan user base.

How will Anaplan treat this change?

Will the new email- addresses be setup as a new user in Anaplan with the old user accounts exisiting in the workspaces.

Or

The new domain accounts replace it's corresponding old user accounts

We currently have pricing approval workflows running in our models against user dimension where the user approval information is captured for a pricing, and approval statuses are driven by booleans based on a pricing having the user who approved it.

With the domain change are we risking the loss of approval history and reversal of approvals.

A thing to note, We currently have a snapshotting mechanism which captures the approval information in a module without user dimension, so in an event of a user (who has approved pricings in the past) leaving the business, we are able to remove the user from workspaces and still retain approvals.

Should this mechanism be enough to handle the email address change.?

appreciate some light on this. Thanks in advance :)

    Hello,
When you rebrand and change your email domain, Anaplan treats the new email addresses as new users. The old user accounts will still exist in the workspaces, but they won't be automatically linked to the new email addresses. NY DMV

To avoid losing approval history and reversal of approvals, your current snapshotting mechanism should be sufficient, as it captures approval information without relying on the user dimension. This way, even if users leave the business, their past approvals are retained.
