Export Filter Issue
Hi Anaplanners,
I am using a classic dash board and have a module saved view with 4 lists pivoted in the row and Time, then I have a native version on the page.
The problem is when I filter for a version and time using a filter module, the filter works perfectly to filter the module based on the filter selection and when I export the filtered view for each forecast version they work fine. But when I filter for Actuals it filters in the module but when I export it then it doesn't export the filter Actuals view.
Please what could be the likely cause and how can it be fixed. Your response will be very helpful.

Hi there!
Here are some likely causes and potential fixes for why your "Actuals" filter might not be exporting correctly, while other forecast versions do:
Likely Causes:
Hidden or Different Filter Applied in the Saved View:
It's possible that the saved view itself has a filter applied that interacts unexpectedly with your dashboard filter. This hidden filter might be set to exclude or behave differently for the "Actuals" version compared to your forecast versions.
Version-Specific Formatting or Suppression Rules:There might be conditional formatting or suppression rules within the module view that are specifically applied to the "Actuals" version. These rules could be hiding rows or columns during the export process, even though they appear in the dashboard.
Time-Specific Issues with "Actuals":While you mentioned the time filter works on the dashboard, there could be a subtle difference in how "Actuals" data is structured or tagged with time periods compared to your forecasts. This might lead to the export process interpreting the time filter differently for "Actuals."
Data Rights or Security Settings:It's less likely in a standard scenario, but there could be data access rights configured in Anaplan that restrict the export of "Actuals" data, even if you can view it on the dashboard.
Corrupted Saved View:In rare cases, the saved view itself might be corrupted in a way that specifically affects the "Actuals" filter during export.
Browser-Specific Issues (Less Likely):While less probable, there could be a browser-specific issue interfering with the export process for the "Actuals" filter.
How to Fix It:Here's a systematic approach to troubleshoot and fix the issue:
Inspect the Saved View Thoroughly:
Open the saved view in the module.
Check for any pre-applied filters: Go to the "Filter" section of the saved view definition and ensure there are no filters already active that might be interfering with your dashboard filter, especially for the "Actuals" version. Clear any unexpected filters.
Examine row and column settings: Look at the row and column headings, especially the pivoted lists and the Time dimension. Ensure there are no manual selections or suppressions applied directly in the saved view that might be specific to "Actuals."
Analyze Conditional Formatting and Suppression Rules:Go to the "Format" section of the module view.
Review any conditional formatting rules that might be hiding data based on the version.
Check for any row or column suppression rules that might be configured differently for the "Actuals" version.
Verify Time Structure for "Actuals":Ensure that the time periods associated with your "Actuals" data are consistent with the time periods in your forecast data and the time filter you are using on the dashboard. Check for any discrepancies in time period formatting or mapping.
Test with a Simplified View:Create a very simple saved view with only the necessary lists pivoted in the row and Time in the column, and no pre-applied filters or formatting. Apply your dashboard filter for "Actuals" and try exporting. If this works, it indicates the issue lies in the complexity or settings of your original saved view.
Check User Permissions (If Applicable):If you suspect data access rights might be involved, consult with your Anaplan administrator to verify if there are any specific restrictions on exporting "Actuals" data for your user role.
Recreate the Saved View (If Necessary):If you've tried the above steps and still face the issue, consider recreating the saved view from scratch. This can help eliminate the possibility of a corrupted saved view.
Test in a Different Browser:As a long shot, try exporting the filtered "Actuals" view using a different web browser to see if the issue is browser-specific.
Review the Filter Module Logic:Double-check the formula and logic within your filter module to ensure it's correctly identifying and applying the filter for "Actuals" in the same way it does for other versions.
Troubleshooting Steps to Follow:Isolate the problem: Try filtering for "Actuals" directly within the module view (not through the dashboard filter) and then export. Does it export correctly? This will help determine if the issue is with the dashboard filter interaction or the saved view itself.
Compare settings: Carefully compare the settings of your saved view with a saved view for one of the forecast versions that exports correctly. Look for E-ZPassCT any differences in filters, formatting, or other configurations.By systematically working through these potential causes and fixes, you should be able to identify why your "Actuals" filter isn't exporting correctly and resolve the issue. Good luck!
