Not able to track the historical changes for a formula cell
Hi People
As per above SS for Lineitem 'C' I cannot see the history for this cell , whenever there is a change in values of input lineitems 'A' or 'B'.
Also, even If I change the formula for 'C', then also cell history for the cell does not showup.
Whereas when I check the 'History' from Settings panel then it just shows in description "Change in Lineitem" for 'C'.
Question: Why is above happening, as it should show me the historical changes for a cell, thereby how do I track the changes for that cell ?

@anupgade - Yes, correct.
It will show up as line item changed if you check the history in the backend but not the formula/value in that line item.0

@anupgade - Hi Anup, using the check history option from the front-end you can only see history for changes made to data i.e input cells & not formula cells.

Thanks @devrathahuja
Does that mean, any updates to cell where formula is applied cannot be tracked neither in terms of formula nor data(number/text/list formatted) ? System would just tell there is a "Change in Lineitem"

@anupgade : as previously mentioned, this is the intended behavior: only input cells can have the cell history log populated.
There is no cell history for the line-items with formulas, but you will find entries in the main history logs if the line-item formula was changed. Formula changes is a "structural" modification that leave trace in the main history log.
Hope it helps,
Alex

@alexpavel make sense.
Thanks for more better explanation

Whilst the group in this thread have answered your question, the other thing to add is that you can see the change in logic via the ALM comparison report which will tell you how the logic has changed compared to the deployed model, vs the history report just saying the line item has changed (won't help however with cell-level data changes).
This is contingent though on having a current revision tag and a ALM-able model. You don't even have to deploy the revision tag, you can just run the comparison to see what the differences are.
