Integration from Synapse Cloud to Anaplan
Hi Everyone,
I am writing to inquire about the integration options available for connecting Synapse Cloud with Anaplan. I am trying to explore a way to streamline data flows and processes between these platforms, and we are keen to understand the best practices and methods for achieving this integration.
Specifically, we would appreciate information regarding:
- Supported integration methods (API, connectors, etc.),
- Requirements or prerequisites for setting up the integration,
- Any documentation or resources available to guide us through the integration process,
- Potential challenges or considerations we should be aware of.
Additionally, if there are any recommended points of contact or specialists within your support team who could provide further assistance on this matter, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your guidance and insights regarding the integration between Synapse Cloud and Anaplan.
Regards
Shweta

There are many different ways to integrate into Anaplan from various source systems. Typically, the method chosen comes down to available tooling or resources and the time to value.
- Anaplan has publicly available APIs that can be implemented in the scripting language of your choice (Python is popular for this), 3rd party ETL tools with connectors to Anaplan (Informatica, Boomi, Workato, Mulesoft to name a few), or Anaplan's own Anaplan Connect, CloudWorks, and Anaplan Data Orchestrator.
- You should be a Workspace Administrator for the models that you wish to build integrations into. You will also need access to developers if using custom REST API scripting code, or licenses for any ETL tool that you may choose to use.
- Here is a great resource on Anapedia that links out to the various integration methods we offer: https://help.anaplan.com/integrations-and-extensibility-d583c819-d1f1-4d8a-9446-0015cac5ea2d
- Consider the technical resources that you have internally available when choosing an integration method. The more custom of an implementation you choose, the more flexibility and power you gain at the expense of difficulty and maintenance requirements. Be aware that custom REST API scripting implementations will require the logic to be built for Authentication, Refresh Tokens, and any Error Handling, where as an ETL tool or Anaplan's integration program offerings take care of these aspects for you.
