Hello Anaplanners,

There is a requirement to calculate no. of days in each month based on start date.

Suppose if start date is 5/15/25, then may should have 15 days, and going forward will have 30/31 days depending upon month and before start date it should be zero.

My target module is at weekly level and I am pulling employee start date from yearly level module then how can I achieve this?

you can use the End() — to take the end of the month and DAY Function to calculate for the day as a number

you will need a combination of END() as well as DAYS()

For better understanding, it would be helpful if you could share screenshots of your source and target modules.

Also, just a quick check — why is the employee start date stored in a yearly module? Since it's a single value per employee, it’s usually better placed without a time dimension.

Coming to your requirement:
As suggested by fellow members you can use DAY() and END() function combined or the other way around (if you do not have space issue) can be-
You can create a line item in your target module with Day as the time scale creating as subsidiary view and use a formula like: IF 'Start date' < START() THEN 1 ELSE 0

Then set the summary to SUM to get the total number of days per month after the start date. This way, you can count partial and full month days as required.
