Hi,

I have a list of bank loans. In this list, there are some bank loans which are no longer current, but my total of all bank loans includes this in the total.

As there will be new loans, loans repaid throughout the period, what is the best way so I can see a subtotal of only current loans?

You can use a subset on the the bank loans list.

As per overview of your question, there are few solutions you can build based on your Data module and how you want to see it in Pages

Sol 1 : If you would like to just see subtotal of current loans with on same module,

create a new column say "Active Loans", write a condition to pull only Current loans data from original line item (you should be knowing the way or Condition to identify Current loans) else 0
Create 2 Line items,

Original bank Loans Line item

line item1 = Filter (boolean format) = where you mark your current loans records as true

line item 2 = Active/Current loans = if Filter then Original bank Loans Line item else 0

now you will be seeing only Current loans total in new line item

Sol 2: If you would like to see separate module just with current bank loan list, you can follow below steps

Create a Current Bank Loan Subset in List
create filter line item in existing Bank loan module and add a logic to filter out only Current loans based on the condition you have to identify current loans and create a saved view with Filter line item
Load Current Bank Loan Subset using saved view in Existing Module
Create new module using subset as a dimension

@Shruthi Thank you. In terms of your first solution, that's what I'm already doing, but because my filter excludes non-current loans, the totals don't tie.

In terms of the LISS, how do I execute this step?

My understanding on your question is, You are looking for subtotal of you current Bank loans only, then yes total in both the line items will be different as you exclude non-current loans in new line items.

in above answer, I mentioned about creating list subset not LISS. and subset will be created using filter you create in Source module.

Correct me if my understanding is different then what you are expecting, you can give post some example SS on what exactly you are looking for

To Keep Subset up to date, you have to automate the action which runs every time soon after your bank loan list/ Data loads, so Subset will automatically reload with current bank loans

Regarding Filter, not sure how you identify Bank loan is Current or not,

Eg: Line item 1 = Bank Loans ,

Line item 2 = you identify current or not bank loans based on Line item 2 (which contains text /list) Active and Non-Active, then logic in Filter

Line item 3 is Filter = If Line item 2 = "Active" then true else false (instead hard coding Active in Logic you can use Sys module to have Constants and do lookup)

Filter line item is totally based on your identification condition as per requirement

Without reloading this into the Subset, is there another way to select the boolean based on a formula?

Only way to populate subset if through action(subset load) just like list, can not make it formalized.
