Mapping from a module that is time dimensioned to a module that is not time dimensioned

I am trying to build a tool to manage my sprint. I have a module that is not time dimensioned

I wanted to get the start and end date from a system module. The date comes correctly if I get it from a module that is time dimensioned as below

But if I used a time dimensioned it does not come. The reason I wanted a time dimensioned module was to ensure I can use the dimension as running calendar.

Can I not get a lookup to a non time dimensioned module from a time dimensioned module
