ADO - Another Key Has Already Been Processed With This Key

Hi All,

So I am getting an interesting set of errors when pushing to a hierarchy in a model from ADO:

This is a 10 level hierarchy, and there are no errors for level 10.

I have tried pushing data to a hierarchy with the first 9 levels only with no issues at all, so it seems to be an issue with the 10th level.

I have removed duplicates from the dataset using a transformation view.

My question is: How (in any circumstance) could there be this error (another row has already been processed with this key) when duplicates have been removed from the dataset?

I feel like I must be missing something obvious!

Might not be relevant here since you're importing GLs (depends on how clean your source data is), but we experienced similar behaviour with remove duplicates in ADO while building a metadata list (with no consistent numerical codes available).

The cause was ADO's remove duplicate functionality being case-sensitive, while list imports are not. Using UPPER() before applying the remove duplicates solved it. If you want to retain the original casing afterwards, you could apply the UPPER function on a new column, apply remove duplicates to that column, and then use another transformation view to remove the uppercase column used to run the remove duplicates.
