L1MB Exam Activity 4/5

Hi All!

I seem to be stuck on activity number five, presumably due to something I missed during activity four.

Here is everything I entered for SYS08 and EMP03 so far. I read some previous threads and made sure to update the new line items and make sure that "role" was set to "list."

When I try to change the formulas in EMP02 I get this error. I worry that something is wrong in the dimensions or mapping but when I try to adjust things I make it worse.

Also am I safe to assume that the lookup is the same, just adjusted to reference EMP03? Like this:

IF Employed? THEN 'EMP03 Employee Drivers by Role'.Car Allowance[LOOKUP: 'SYS08 Employee Details'.Department, LOOKUP: 'SYS08 Employee Details'.Country] ELSE 0

Hey There, I think the issue is that you are referencing the employee's country rather than their role as a lookup parameter. The drivers are defined by Role & Department as such the lookup parameters should align with that source module.

See if updating the line item referenced below to 'SYS08 Employee Details'.Role fixes the issue:

Hi Tiffany! Thank you so much, that got me a little further. Can't believe I overlooked that.

I was able to get data to flow for "bonus%" and "medical" calcs, but now I'm struggling with the ones for car, and phone.

Nothing came up when I used "role" so I thought I would try "departments," and I get this error.

If the source module for the line items is the same (see Applies To for EMP03), then you should use the same lookup parameters for each formula. The LOOKUP can be thought of as the bridge, it creates the relationship between the target module which applies to list 'E2 Employees' and the lists om the source 'Role, E1 Department'.

To validate if your formula is return the correct value, open SYS08 and determine role/department for Shala Engle then cross references those in EMP003. Is there a Phone Cost defined in that source module? If not, that would indicate that your formula is working correctly but either that role/department is not eligible for a phone/car OR the data was not loaded/defined in the source module (see if there is values for any intersect of that line item, if all roles/departments are blank/0 that may indicate a step was missed or data will be loaded later).

So I checked the parameters and they seem ok. But when double checking against an "executive," (who is supposed to have a car allowance) I still don't see a value.

And here is my formula for car costs.

Any idea what I'm missing?
