Action Change on comparison report: "Allow Writing To Current Period"

Hello Anaplan Community:

When reviewing a comparison report for a new revision tag today, my team and I noticed two changes to a bulk copy action.

The changes in the comparison report for this action are "Allow Writing To Current Period" and "Allow Writing To Periods Prior To Switchover"

The previous values were "-" and the new values are "FALSE"

When reviewing the bulk copy action in our model, there is no option to allow / disallow writing to the current period or the preiods prior to switch over. See Screen grab of the action

We haven't made any changes to this action.

I know sometimes Anaplan will push updates that will rear their head in comparison reports, wondering if anyone else has seen this in their models?

Resolution from the Anaplan support Portal

"Thank you for reaching out about the unexpected changes appearing in your comparison report for the Bulk Copy action.

After investigating, we can confirm that this is the result of a platform-level update from Anaplan not a change made by your team.

What happened:

Anaplan has introduced two new backend fields for Bulk Copy actions as part of ongoing platform enhancements:

* Allow Writing To Current Period
* Allow Writing To Periods Prior To Switchover

These fields were added to the underlying action definition on the server side. Since they didn't previously exist in your model, the comparison report shows:

* Previous value: "-" (not set / null)
* New value: FALSE (the default)

Why you don't see them in the UI:

The action editor for Bulk Copy does not currently expose these options as configurable checkboxes. The backend schema was updated ahead of the corresponding UI rollout, which is why the fields appear in comparison reports but are not visible when you open the action.

Impact to your model:

The default value of FALSE means your Bulk Copy actions will not write to periods prior to the current period or switchover which is consistent with existing behavior. Functionally, your action should continue to work exactly as it did before. The comparison report is simply surfacing the new metadata fields that were added behind the scenes."
