Group Workflow Task

Hello Anaplan experts,

I have created a workflow template with several group tasks.

I have assigned these task to several users.

Question: am I understanding correct that a group task is considered complete only when all users have completed it? I have tested and found out that if one user has completed a group task but others have not, then the user who completed it can not proceed further with the workflow. He or she needs to wait for others to complete it.

Any solution not to block the first user?

Hi @Illarion Jabine, your observation is valid if the workflow step is configured so the next step depends on the full group task completion. In that case, even if one user completes their part, the workflow does not move forward for that user until the group task as a whole is complete.

Your current setup is behaving like a group-level gate.
To avoid blocking users, redesign the workflow so each assignee has an independent task path or separate user-specific task sequence.

@IJ - if you have Workflow Advanced the new batch submission and approval functionality may help. This allows individual workflows to be created as part of an action triggered from Group task. There is a short video included in the release notes which explains how this may be used.

Hello @Tiffany.Rice it seems that we don't have "Workflow Advanced". Is it a paid additional workflow option?

I believe it depends on which licensing version is in the contract.

Your Anaplan Business Partner should be able to help with licensing questions and upgrade options.
